Mitchell® Golf Equipment Company, Dayton, Ohio will conduct a workshop Saturday March 10th at the 2007 PCS Membership Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. Paul Bessler, Director of Instruction for Mitchell® Golf Equipment Institute will demonstrate measuring and bending techniques for today’s modern golf clubs.
Golf club performance upgrades have become the industry’s recognized way of improving golfer’s scores. It has been well documented that it takes more than a good golf swing to shoot lower scores. It takes good club performance too. Golfers see greater improvement when their clubs perform better.
One of the most important upgrades for better performance is adjusting golf club angles to produce ball flight that improves control and trajectory. The workshop will include the proper method for registering club heads in a square, horizontal face plane for accurate measurements. The proper bending techniques will be demonstrated for irons, metal woods, hybrid utility clubs, and putters.
"Golf club angles need to be progressively consistent in the set with the ideal loft and lie setting for each individual to produce the best results", says Paul Bessler, the 1995 Indiana PGA Section Golf Professional of the Year and 1993 PCS Clubmaker of the Year. "Our workshop will explain how simple it is to measure and bend today’s golf clubs."
Custom fit golf clubs are in demand by all golfers. They want the same advantages that the tour players get from the tour vans each week at PGA Tour events. PCS Clubmakers will be taught how to bend forged and cast irons; stainless steel metal woods and hybrids; cast and CNC milled putters with or without hosels using the same techniques employed by PGA Tour van technicians.
