Fuller’s London Pride Continues To Support Golfers And Their Clubs

March 6, 2007

Fuller’s London Pride is a name that will become more familiar to golfers as the 2007 season progresses.

Fuller’s London Pride, the UK’s leading premium ale, is becoming the title sponsor of the EGU Gold Medal, the flagship event for club handicap golfers. This prestigious competition attracts participation from over 600 clubs and estimated 90,000 golfers throughout England and entry forms are now being sent to all clubs and counties.

In addition to receiving a winner’s medal and the opportunity to take part in the two-day grand final at Woodhall Spa, Fuller’s will be offering a case of London Pride to each club winner plus a weekend break at a Fuller’s Hotel in London and year’s supply of London Pride to the overall competition winner.

Only England’s top 81 club winners are guaranteed a place at the grand final. For the first time the Gold Medal leaderboard will be available on the EGU website allowing all golfers to see how their club or their county’s clubs are fairing against the competition.

David Spencer, Brands Marketing Manager for Fuller’s said, " The Fuller’s London Pride EGU Gold Medal is the ultimate prize for club golfers and we are delighted to be supporting their quest to get to the final at Woodhall Spa. London Pride is a fantastic pint that takes patience and skill to brew – not to dissimilar to golf, a great game that takes patience and skill to play."

Fuller’s and the EGU have agreed a five-year deal and are working on a number of initiatives to support golfers and their clubs.

EGU Marketing and PR Manager Lynne Fraser added, "The Fuller’s London Pride Gold Medal can be won by any EGU member at any of our clubs and truly recognises England’s best Handicap Golfer each year. Fuller’s has a great enthusiasm to support a range of initiatives at clubs and we are delighted that the company have chosen to work in partnership with the EGU."
