HARVEST, Ala. (March 5, 2007) – Balance-Certified Golf, an acclaimed shaft tuning system which uses strategically-placed weights tailored to individual golfers’ needs, is now in use at the St. Andrews Links Golf Academy in St. Andrews, Scotland, as part of the Academy’s custom club fitting program. In personalized club fitting sessions, golfers are introduced to the Balance-Certified Pro-Balance system and have a chance to experience the immediate improvement in shotmaking and feel that the system produces.
"Now golfers in Scotland and visitors to the Academy from all over the world can see what our system can do for them," said John Cranston, vice president of sales and marketing for Balance-Certified Golf. "We are thrilled to be part of the club fitting program at the St. Andrews Links Golf Academy."
Balance-Certified Golf, which was selected among the ‘Best of Show’ products by Golfing Magazine in its "2007 PGA Show Wrap-Up," is in use by many tour players, and is garnering praise for how its attention to golf club vibration and feel leads to more satisfied golfers of every playing ability.
Ed Robertson, managing director of Applied Golf Technology, directs the custom-fit center at the St. Andrews Links Golf Academy. He sees firsthand how golfers who have Balance-Certified weights installed in their clubs realize better feel and consistency right away.
"Players enjoy a more solid strike of the ball," said Robertson, "with improved distance control. I think Balance-Certified is an excellent product, one that’s unique in golf."
Balance-Certified Golf’s industry-leading back-weighting technology was developed by a former NASA engineering team in 1999. Tour players who use the Balance-Certified Pro-Balance system include Scott Hoch and Tom Jenkins. Phil White, long drive champion, also is a devotee of Balance-Certified Golf.
The Pro-Balance line introduces strategically-located weights that can be used to adjust a golf club’s vibration and response characteristics and can be installed on any brand of golf equipment and any club in the bag. Balance-Certified’s scientific approach to golf club dynamics helps transform "feel" into a definable and tunable parameter. Independent testing has demonstrated that the Balance-Certified Golf system delivers increased ball speed in drivers, greater iron play control and a tangible benefit in "feel" and distance control of putters. Balance-Certified Golf’s system is now in use at the Parmasters Golf Training Center in Memphis, Tenn., as part of the center’s instructional and club-fitting programs.
Balance-Certified Golf’s Pro-Balance weighting system and power rings can be installed by club fitters or by individual golfers with the newly-introduced self-fit kit. Balance-Certified Golf systems can be found at many retail golf shops across the U.S. and elsewhere.
