ATLANTA, GA (March 13, 2007) – The 2007 U.S. Kids Golf National Family Camps program gives young golfers and their parents opportunities to bond over putting, chipping, ice cream and hotdogs at some of the nation’s leading golf resorts.
U.S. Kids Golf’s third summer schedule of Family Camps runs from June 1 to July 22 and includes three-day sessions at Jackson Hole, Wyo., Jekyll Island, Ga., Pinehurst, N.C., Port St. Lucie, Fla., Hawley, Pa., McKinney, Texas, Murrieta, Calif., and Columbus, Ohio.
The camps, which are geared for beginning to intermediate players, will cover fundamental forms and skills, play on the course, rules, etiquette and tips for parents to guide their child through the learning process. John Godwin, PGA Master Professional and director of player development for U.S. Kids Golf, is the camp’s lead instructor. Godwin will be assisted by members of the U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teachers. Tuition is $449 to $499, depending on location, for one child with parent. Each camp is limited to 36 participant families.
"We’ve always believed that golf brings families together," said Godwin, a former PGA Junior Golf Leader of the Year. "Our summer camp program is one more way kids can continue to improve their games and families can enjoy time together with golf as the catalyst."
