Marlborough, MA-March 14, 2007- CHAMP Spikes picked up its 6h major victory on the young season when the winner of the PODS Open picked up a surprising Tour victory that came down to the final hole in Palm Harbor, Florida.
The winner chose CHAMP’s Scorpion Stingerâ?¢, with its patented "C" wear indicator, as he waited out an excruciating final hole for the win. The eventual champion shot an opening round 75 and bounced back with a final round 70 but it came down to the runner-up missing a four foot putt on 18 to seal the win.
In all, CHAMP Spikes were worn by of six of the top ten finishers this past weekend. Of all the golfers wearing the CHAMP brand, 70% of them chose to switch out of the spikes provided by the manufacturer in favor of CHAMP spikes.
"Another weekend, another win," said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP. "This is our 6th victory already in 2007 and once again, the survey data is remarkable. The high percentage of players who choose to change their spikes in favor of our spikes is extremely strong and illustrates the high performance our spikes provide."
