Duke Replaces Georgia as Top Team; Florida Moves Up Seven Spots

NEW YORK, NY—The second Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II and III, will appear in the March 23 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfworld.com/womenspoll.

Duke, ranked number three in the previous poll, has claimed the top spot from Georgia after back-to-back wins at the UCF Invitational and the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic. The Blue Devils received sixteen of the twenty-four first-place votes, and are led by sophomore Amanda Blumenherst, who has won three straight individual events and has a 70.83 stroke average this season.

Florida is responsible for the biggest jump in the poll, moving from No.18 to No.11. The Lady Gators won their home tournament—the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational—by 14 shots earlier this month.

Rounding out the top five are: Arizona State (No.2); Georgia (No.3); Pepperdine (No.4); Auburn (No.5). Three new teams are in the Top-25: San Jose State (No.23), Arkansas (No.24) and Florida State (No.25).
