(Duluth, GA, April 17, 2007) — Sweden’s Hentik Stenson, the sixth ranked player in the world and the winner of this year’s World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, will play at the 2007 AT&T Classic. The 39th annual PGA TOUR event will be played May 14-20 at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth. Stenson, Masters winner Zach Johnson and Charles Howell III will join 153 more of the world’s top golfers who will be competing over 72 holes for a first prize check of $972,000 and a total purse of $5.4 million. Here are some quick facts on Stenson:
â?¢ Stenson played 120 holes in five days in the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, the last 35 in the Finals against Geoff Ogilvy that featured five lead changes until Stenson made back-to-back birdies for a 2 & 1 victory, his first in the U.S. As the money in World Golf Championship counts as both PGA TOUR and European Tour earnings, he immediately took over Europe’s Order of Merit in the early going. Earlier in the year he won the Dubai Desert Classic which jumped him into the World top 10 for the first time. He has also finished T19 at the World Golf Championships-CA Championship and T17 at The Masters.
â?¢ Last year Stenson competed in 10 PGA TOUR events as a non-member. He made the cut in eight and recorded a pair of top 10s including third place ties at both THE PLAYERS Championship and the World Golf Championships-American Express Championship. His equivalent of a 104th place finish on the 2006 money list enabled him to earn full U.S. playing privileges this year.

â?¢ His 2006 year on the European Tour was even more successful as he collected titles at both the Commercialbank Qatar Masters and the BMW International Open.
â?¢ He made a successful debut in the 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club, where he secured the winning point with a 4&3 win over Vaughn Taylor. He also paired with Carl Pettersson to represent Sweden in the World Golf Championships-Barbados World Cup.
â?¢ He is a native of Gotenburg, Sweden and was a scratch handicapper by the age of 18. A year later he qualified for the national team and represented his country in the Eisenhower Trophy in Chile. He now makes his home in Dubai.
