Student-Athletes Utilize 3-D Wireless Technology To Maximize Performance
Bedford, New Hampshire, April 17, 2007 â?¦ Bentley Kinetics, Inc., the leader in the field of wireless motion analysis, and developer of the K-VESTâ?¢, a first of its kind golf instructional system, today announced that student-athletes on the top ranked Arizona State University (ASU) golf team have been utilizing K-VEST technology.
Tim Suzor, the Director of Instruction at the Scottsdale-based Kinetic Golf Academy, and swing coach at ASU, has been integrating the K-VEST and the Kinetic Swing Instructional System for members of both the men’s team and top-ranked women’s team. Tim has been using the K-VEST to more effectively analyze the players’ swings while providing them with real-time visual, auditory and kinesthetic feedback to maximize their tournament performance.
"Since introducing K-VEST technology to several members of ASU’s golf team, I’ve had an opportunity to evaluate and precisely pinpoint swing flaws more effectively, while providing drills to make each student-athlete’s swing more efficient," comments Tim Suzor, PGA Professional and Director of Instruction, Kinetic Golf Academy/ASU Swing Coach. "Several top ranked student-athletes have completely embraced the technology, and their games are now improving at a significant pace. It was extremely rewarding to watch both the men’s and women’s teams win last week."
In addition to Arizona State University, powerhouse collegiate programs, including defending National Champion, Oklahoma State University, University of Florida, University of New Mexico, Florida State University, LSU, and Boston College — combining for 28 National Championships — have all incorporated the K-VEST instructional system.
K-VEST also continues to gain traction among the elite PGA Teaching professionals and coaches. Among the Top PGA Professionals who are utilizing the K-VEST instructional system in their teaching facilities include: David Leadbetter, Chuck Cook, Martin Hall, Mike Malaska, Mitchell Spearman, Todd Sones, Fred Griffin, and Ron Gring. Top 50 women K-VEST instructors include Kelli Kostick and Darlene Sommer.

About K-VEST
The K-VEST, which can be used indoors or outdoors, with or without a video camera, utilizes three (3) wireless sensors strategically placed on the golfer’s hip, shoulder, and hand. These sensors communicate with Bentley’s proprietary KINESYNCâ?¢ software on a laptop computer to display live video and 3-D animation. The instructor and/or player simply records a swing and, within seconds, the software generates a complete 3-D swing analysis allowing the user to quickly identify swing faults. The exercise mode is then used to provide real-time audio, visual, and kinesthetic feedback to optimize performance.
About the Kinetic Swing Certification Program
The Kinetic Swing Certification Program is a 3 level curriculum designed to provide PGA/LPGA professionals with the education and techniques necessary to dramatically increase their understanding of 3D swing analysis and training specific to golf instruction. The program introduces participants to the Kinetic Swing System, a science-based instruction program, based on 16 years of research that addresses the true cause of inefficiencies and provides drill prescriptions utilizing the company’s K-VEST technology. All certification courses include comprehensive take home manuals, nationwide marketing support, and registration onto the Bentley Kinetics online web portal.
