PLANO, TEXAS, April 19, 2007 – Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) announces their title sponsorship of a new developmental pro tour, the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series. The new tour will provide an avenue for golf professionals to develop their skills while preparing for competition on the PGA TOUR. The tournament schedule will be announced in the next week with events beginning in May and running through October.
Sponsorship in the professional mini-tour ranks is nothing new for Adams Golf. They, with the help of tournament organizer, Gary DeSerrano, launched the Tight Lies Tour in 2000. That tour grew from 15 events and an average purse of $55,000 to 18 events and purses exceeding $110,000 in 2006. The Tight Lies Tour was sold in 2006 to the US Pro Golf Tour.
"I could not be happier for the pros or our local tournament committees, to continue our journey with Adams Golf," said DeSerrano. "They have been a big supporter of my passion for running great golf tournaments, helping local charity partners and fulfilling the dreams of playing in the professional golf ranks. We accomplished a great deal with the Tight Lies Tour, and now we look to make the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series even better for the pros and our tournament partners." DeSerrano, who has 13 years experience managing professional golf tournaments, will oversee the new pro tour series for Adams Golf with his sports marketing company, K&G Sports LLC.
"We are taking a much more aggressive approach to using the professional ranks to demonstrate the products we have to offer golfers at all levels," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. "Our partnership with Gary and the new Adams Golf Pro Tour Series is simply a continuation of our dedication to these pros and the communities that support the Series. I expect that Gary’s group will make the new Pro Tour Series even better and my confidence in his company’s abilities to do so is evident with our title sponsorship role of the Tour."
