Sales boot camp boosts golf companies’ bottom line
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Attention manufacturer’s reps – finally an effective, long-lasting way to optimize the product sales side of the golf industry. Dr. Jerry Teplitz, long an icon for golfers trying to maximize their abilities by shoring up their "mental" game through his DVD "Par and Beyond: Secrets to better Golf" now brings his industry secrets to golf’s marketing professionals through his "Switched-On Selling" (SOS) Seminar.
Dr. Teplitz’s expertise as an optimum brain performance instructor coupled with 30 plus years helping fine tuning Fortune 500 companies enables him to effectively employ a system called Brain Gym (long a staple in many school systems) and adapt it to the sales arena. The results are positive, immediate, permanent and trackable.
"In this program, we find out specifically what has held the salesperson back," explains Teplitz. "We take all the elements and provide a total self-examination, and then by using the Brain Gyms we created new neuron nets in the brain in minutes."
Teplitz points out through his program that obstacles, such as cold calls, not knowing how to ask for the order, not following up properly because of excess paperwork and not setting goals to give direction, can be quickly overcome.
"The fact is, we can change all of this in minutes," he offered, "more importantly, the sales person’s improvement isn’t temporary. Months after the SOS Seminar, he/she performs even better."
This theory was borne out by a salesman who took the SOS Seminar to heart.
"Two full months after the seminar, I can still strongly feel its positive effects on my sales approach," said Serge Gravelle of Largo, Fla.
In a study of almost 700 salespeople conducted by Teplitz, attendees were asked to respond to 18 self-evaluation questions before the start of the seminar, again after taking the seminar and once again one month later.
Before the seminar, 57 percent responded that they did not handle rejection well. At the end of the seminar, only nine percent still responded negatively. A month later, that nine percent figure was the same. On the positive side, only two percent initially responded "strongly agree" that they handle rejection well. At the end of the seminar that figure jumped to 31 percent and a month later that figure improved to 40 percent.
The South Carolina Farm Bureau, an insurance company, did a research study over a four month period and found that attendees increased sales by 39 percent and premiums by 70 percent.
"Rather than learning another sales technique, salespeople learn a system of easy movement exercises called ‘Brain Gyms,’ explained Teplitz. "These are specific exercises to switch on communication between the right and left brain hemispheres. When you switch on communication in your brain, you achieve new levels of energy and peak performance and a new sense of emotional well-being."
Teplitz has proven with his Switched-On Selling seminar that there is a system that will quickly improve a sales person’s own self-worth as well as his/her production. For golf companies looking to generate more sales and provide the competitive edge in sales training for their reps, the Switched-On Selling seminar may just be the magic bullet they’ve been looking for.
