HARVEST, Ala. (June 14, 2007) – Balance-Certified Golf, an acclaimed shaft tuning system which uses strategically-placed weights tailored to individual golfers’ needs, recently was contracted by MacGregor Golf Company to conduct independent test-based analyses of MacGregor’s new Bobby Grace Face-Off DCT putter insert technology. Although the two companies have worked together in the past to support tour players, this represents the first time that Balance-Certified Golf has been utilized to evaluate a developmental MacGregor technology.
"We needed an independent engineering resource to validate our new designs," said Bobby Grace, designer of MacGregor’s Bobby Grace putters. "Balance-Certified Golf had the expertise and capability to do the job correctly on the first try."
Balance-Certified Golf is well known for its line of innovative shaft weighting systems that have been in play on all the major tours since 1999. Scott Hoch and Tom Jenkins, both Balance-Certified Golf staff players, act as technological advisors for the fast-growing company. Phil White, long drive champion, also is a devotee of Balance-Certified Golf.
For MacGregor, Balance-Certified Golf conducted a series of tests using proprietary image-based test methods that resolve ball spin and trajectory to a resolution of less than 0.0002 inch. Balance-Certified Golf quantified ball velocity at nine positions across the fact of the test putters, thus generating a velocity profile that relates directly to the distance of a putt. This allowed MacGregor to validate and fine-tune its Distance Corrective Technology platform while discretely analyzing the sensitivity of its new putters to off-center hits during the development process.
"We were especially pleased to execute this testing project for MacGregor, since our companies share a strong commitment to innovation and quality," said Jeff Lindner, president of Balance-Certified Golf.
Balance-Certified Golf, which is in use at many custom club fitting programs in the U.S. and abroad and which recently named Mitchell® Golf Equipment Company as a distributor, was selected among the ‘Best of Show’ products by Golfing Magazine in its "2007 PGA Show Wrap-Up." Balance-Certified Golf is garnering praise for how its attention to golf club vibration and feel leads to more satisfied golfers of every playing ability. Golfers all over the world who are being introduced to the Balance-Certified Pro-Balance system are experiencing the immediate improvement in shotmaking and feel that the system produces.
Balance-Certified Golf’s industry-leading back-weighting technology was developed by a former NASA engineering team in 1999. The Pro-Balance line introduces strategically-located weights that can be used to adjust a golf club’s vibration and response characteristics and can be installed on any brand of golf equipment and any club in the bag. Balance-Certified’s scientific approach to golf club dynamics helps transform "feel" into a definable and tunable parameter. Independent testing has demonstrated that the Balance-Certified Golf system delivers increased ball speed in drivers, greater iron play control and a tangible benefit in "feel" and distance control of putters.
Balance-Certified Golf’s Pro-Balance weighting system and power rings can be installed by club fitters or by individual golfers with the self-fit kit. Balance-Certified Golf systems can be found at many retail golf shops across the U.S. and elsewhere.
