SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – OB Sports Golf Management promotes Bill Mesa to the position of regional director of sales. The promotion came after a third golf course, The Golf Club at Eagle Mountain, was added to Mesa’s list of responsibilities. Mesa was already group sales manager for The Duke at Rancho El Dorado located in Maricopa, Ariz. and Longbow Golf Club located in Mesa, Ariz. As regional director of sales Mesa is responsible for generating group golf outing leads, customizing group packages, and organizing golf tournaments for hotel partners, corporations and charitable organizations.
"For several years now, Bill has done a great job attracting golf events to Longbow and The Duke," said Phil Green, president of OB Sports Golf Management. "His ability to provide a high level of service, and his ability to work well with the golf operations staff makes him the logical choice for this position."
Prior to joining OB Sports two years ago, Mesa was the national sales manager for the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort and Casino in Fort McDowell, Ariz. where he was responsible for group and golf package sales in the Southwest. Before that, he worked for The Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Ariz. as the resort sales manager. In addition to sales-related employment, Mesa also has worked for a host of diverse companies including: EDS – Electronic Data Systems; America West Airlines; WorldCom Wireless and Pepsi Cola Company.
Mesa was formally educated at Paradise Valley Community College and Triton College, and continues to develop professionally as various trade organization such as the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. Mesa is fluent in the Spanish language as well as numerous business-related software programs.
When not at work, Mesa enjoys golfing with his wife, Debbi and coaching his sons, Jordan and Gray, in Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football.
