(CUMBERLAND, MD) – Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort today announces the hiring of Richard Flowers as Head Golf Professional at the Western Maryland resort – home to the state’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature designed course.
A graduate of High Point (N.C.) College, Flowers has coached the nearby Frostburg State University (Md.) golf team since 2004.

Flowers most recently served as Head Golf Professional at Maplehurst Country Club in Frostburg, giving him valuable insight into the local golf scene. Prior to that, he was a Golf Instructor at John Jacobs Golf Schools (Phoenix, Ariz.) – the world’s largest golf school – and Director of Instruction at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, Calif. and Cumberland (Md.) Country Club.
