PLANO, TEXAS, July 9, 2007 – Adams Golf Tour Staff Pro Brad Bryant can now be called a major champion after staging the second biggest comeback in U.S. Senior Open history. Bryant fired a final-round 68 to separate himself from the rest of the field at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisc. Bryant’s win marked the third straight U.S. Senior Open victory for the Adams Golf Tour Staff.
Using his Idea Pro Hybrid to help navigate the very demanding terrain at Whistling Straits, Bryant ranked first in Greens Hit In Regulation by hitting 15 of 18 greens in each of the final two rounds. He also played a 7.5-degree Insight BUL driver.
"We’re thrilled for Brad and congratulate him on this outstanding achievement," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf CEO and president. "He is such a great competitor and seems to always be in the hunt. It was a fantastic finish and he deserved the trophy after handling the pressure the way he did and the very windy conditions at Whistling Straits."
Adams Golf hybrids topped the Darrell Survey equipment count again with 88 in play. Along with Bryant and Watson both playing Idea Pro hybrids, four other Top 10 finishers played either Adams Golf hybrids or fairway woods.
PGA TOUR
The winner of the AT&T National in Bethesda, Md., played a 22-degree Idea Pro hybrid en route to his second tour win in the past five weeks. Adams Golf hybrids ranked #2 in the official equipment count after winning the hybrid count in the previous two PGA tournaments.
