Tour Rookie, College All-American Wins Duramed Futures Event in Second Start
(Franklin, TN – July 19, 2007) An accomplished college player won her first tour victory at the Cigna Golf Classic, using a SeeMore putter. This Duramed Futures’ event was SeeMore’s third pro tour victory in 2007 and first with its new SeeMore m2 putter.
The player, who just turned professional in June, was a two-time All-American at Georgia and a 2006 Curtis Cup team member. She won the Cigna Classic in a playoff versus one of the Duramed Futures’ top players. She finished 12th at her first Duramed event. She also was the Georgia Player of the Year and a three-time AJGA All-American.
"We salute this young player for her first professional championship, especially winning against such great competition and so dramatically in a playoff," says Jim Grundberg, Managing Director of SeeMore Golf. "She joins an elite group of great players who have won using a SeeMore putter. We expect this to the first of many wins for her on the Tour, and this is especially exciting as the Duramed Futures Tour becomes part of the LPGA organization."
The new SeeMore m2 putter is a heel shaft putter with a smaller blade that appeals to many players used to playing classic heel shaft blades. It is part of the new SeeMore series of putters which combine the beauty, precision, accuracy, and feel of 100% milled heads with the original proprietary and proven alignment benefits of the SeeMore RifleScopeâ?¢ Technology (RST) system.
The new mSeries comes in four distinctive, finely crafted models to appeal to different player’s putting preferences and styles. The m1 is a classic heel/toe blade with center shaft, the m3 is a classic mallet with center shaft and the mFGP is a milled version of the original FGP putter used by Zach Johnson to win the Masters, AT&T Classic and by Payne Stewart to win the U.S. Open.
The patented RST alignment system technology allows a golfer to set up the putter perfectly each and every time in relation to the intended target line. This is accomplished by lining up the black bottom portion of the shaft between two white lines and covering a signature red dot on the heel of the top line. The process resembles locking radar onto a target.
SeeMore became recognized when Stewart won the 1999 U.S. Open playing a SeeMore putter. Stewart one-putted the last three holes to win the championship by one stroke. He sunk what’s considered to be the longest putt in Open history on the 18th hole to win the tournament. Stewart also won the overall putting title for fewest putts per round over the entire 1999 season.
Other noted SeeMore Tour accomplishments include Johnson setting the all-time Nationwide Tour putting record of 1.699 putts per GIR over an entire season using a SeeMore putter, finishing first in putting, wins and on the overall money list. He is one of only two players ever on any tour to finish a season under 1.7 putts per GIR. Johnson and Vaughn Taylor were the two youngest players to qualify for the 2006 Ryder Cup. Taylor finished first in putting average among the top 50 money winners in 2006.
Like Johnson and Taylor, the Cigna Classic champion is a student of accomplished putting coach and SeeMore consultant Pat O’Brien. O’Brien’s putting philosophy is based on his study of Stewart during his remarkable 1999 using a SeeMore putter. SeeMore putters are custom made in Franklin, TN.
