LENEXA, KANSAS (August 3, 2007) – OnTrack Sports, the makers of the one-of-a-kind Accu-Length Expandable Junior Golf Clubs, has joined the battle against breast cancer by announcing that ten percent of sales of its AL Pink Sets for young girls in October and November will be donated to breast cancer research.
Since being introduced earlier this year, the AL Pink Sets, offered in the 500 and 1000 Series, have become one of Accu-Length’s best-selling products.
"Breast cancer – and all cancers in general – are insidious diseases. Most everyone has been touched by this disease either through a loved one or personally," says Rick Rutter, President, COO and Founder of OnTrack Sports, LLC, makers of Accu-Length, the only Expandable Junior Golf Clubs. "By making this contribution, we hope to do our part to help fund breast cancer research and fight this disease."
According to estimates from the National Cancer Institute, new cases of breast cancer will occur in more than 178,000 women – and about 2,000 men – in the United States in 2007. The Institute further estimates that nearly 40,500 women and 450 men will die from breast cancer this year in the U.S. Those totals put breast cancer third in estimated deaths and fourth in estimated new cases in the U.S. in 2007.
"Medical science is making continuous advances in cancer research. There are vaccines and medicines currently being studied that may eventually help in the treatment of patients with cancer," says Rutter. "The more money that is given towards cancer research, the better the odds increase of finding cures. We urge others to follow us in the fight against breast cancer, as well as all other cancers."
Accu-Length’s decision to use the Pink Sets as the centerpiece of its efforts is founded not only on the fact that the sets are for young girls who are first learning the game as well as the strong sales of the product, but also the high quality of the sets that is attracting consumers. Accu-Length clubs offer a one-of-a-kind spacer system, which enables the club to lengthen and grow as the child grows. This creates easily custom fit clubs, which allow junior golfers to learn the game more easily and more quickly. And saves parents money from buy a new set of clubs each year as their child grows.
The Accu-Length Pink 500 Series, designed for the youngest players, is for children 36.5 to 46.5 inches tall and is perfect for beginning golfers. The Accu-Length Pink 1000 Series is perfect for golfers 44 to 54 inches tall who are just learning the game.
The Pink 1000 Series comes with a wood, a 36-degree 7-iron, a pitching wedge and a heel-toe weighted putter, while the Pink 500 Series comes with all but the iron. All are made from high-quality stainless steel for durability and quality. The Pink 500 Series wood is 24 degrees to make it easier for younger players to get the ball into the air, while the Pink 1000 Series wood is 17 degrees for playability.
Both sets come with a dual-strapped carry bag that feature a riser system that guarantees that the clubs will fit into the bag as the clubs are lengthened. Each bag has self-standing legs as well. The retail price is $119.99 on the AL Pink 500 Series and $149.99 on the AL Pink 1000 Series.
Accu-Length’s Expandable Junior Golf Clubs were ranked second – out of 16 companies – on Golf Digest’s Hot List of Junior Golf Sets, in the magazine’s August 2006 edition and ranked first in that same publication’s South Africa edition. Accu-Length clubs were also named Best New Equipment Product at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
