Tour Rookie Wins Second Duramed Futures Event in Fifth Start
(Franklin, TN – August 16, 2007) A Tour Rookie and accomplished college player won her second tour victory in five starts, using a SeeMore putter at the Betty Puskar Golf Classic. This Duramed Futures’ win is SeeMore’s fourth 2007 pro tour victory and second with its new SeeMore m2 putter.
The player, who just turned professional in June, was a two-time All-American at Georgia and a 2006 Curtis Cup team member. She won the Betty Puskar Classic by three strokes following her first win at the Cigna Classic in a dramatic playoff in July.
"This is a remarkable accomplishment for this young player to win her second professional championship, especially in just five starts," says Jim Grundberg, Managing Director of SeeMore Golf. "Obviously, this is the second of many anticipated wins for this emerging star on the Duramed Futures Tour. She joins an elite group of great players, who have won using a SeeMore putter."
The new SeeMore m2 putter is a heel shaft putter with a smaller blade that appeals to many players used to playing classic heel shaft blades. It is part of the new SeeMore series of putters which combine the beauty, precision, accuracy, and feel of 100% milled heads with the original proprietary and proven alignment benefits of the SeeMore RifleScopeâ?¢ Technology (RST) system.
The new mSeries comes in four distinctive, finely crafted models to appeal to different player’s putting preferences and styles. The m1 is a classic heel/toe blade with center shaft, blade with heel shaft, the m3 is a classic mallet with center shaft and the mFGP. The mFGP is a milled version of the original FGP putter used by Zach Johnson to win the Masters, AT&T Classic and by Payne Stewart to win the U.S. Open.
The patented RST alignment system technology allows a golfer to set up the putter perfectly each and every time in relation to the intended target line. This is accomplished by lining up the black bottom portion of the shaft between two white lines and covering a signature red dot on the heel of the top line. The process resembles locking radar onto a target.
SeeMore became recognized when Stewart won the 1999 U.S. Open playing a SeeMore putter. Stewart one-putted the last three holes to win the championship by one stroke. He sunk what’s considered to be the longest putt in Open history on the 18th hole to win the tournament. Stewart also won the overall putting title for fewest putts per round over the entire 1999 season.
Other noted SeeMore Tour accomplishments include Johnson setting the all-time Nationwide Tour putting record of 1.699 putts per GIR over an entire season using a SeeMore putter, finishing first in putting, wins and on the overall money list. He is one of only two players ever on any tour to finish a season under 1.7 putts per GIR. Johnson and Vaughn Taylor were the two youngest players to qualify for the 2006 Ryder Cup.
Like Johnson and Taylor, the Puskar Classic champion is a student of accomplished putting coach and SeeMore consultant Pat O’Brien. O’Brien’s putting philosophy is based on his study of Stewart during his remarkable 1999 season using a SeeMore putter.
