ATLANTA, Sept. 11, 2007 – Srixon has four full staff members in the grand finale of the FedExCup Playoffs at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Jim Furyk, John Rollins, Robert Allenby and Tim Clark will be among the elite field of 30 players at this week’s Tour Championship.
"We are very excited to have four of our premier tour staff professionals make it to the finals of the inaugural FedExCup and are pleased that our equipment has helped them become the best in the world," said Richard Stamper, Srixon’s President. "To make the field of the top-30 requires steady play throughout the year and they should be proud of their accomplishment. It was especially nice to see Tim Clark play his way into the field last Sunday with a final round 67, which included 7 birdies on the front nine, tying the 9-hole Cog Hill G&CC course record of 29."
Jim Furyk, currently No. 8 in the FedExCup standings, will be counting on the Srixon Z-URC golf ball, I-506 irons and new forged wedges to continue to seek out the pins this week as he goes for his second win of the season. Furyk, ranked No. 3 in the world, is second in driving accuracy on tour and fifth in greens in regulation. He has recorded eight top-10 finishes including a win at the Canadian Open, two seconds and two thirds. He currently is No. 7 on the money list with earnings close to $4 million.
John Rollins is making his second appearance in the Tour Championship. He started the year strong with two runner-up finishes on the West Coast. He is currently 23rd in the FedExCup standings and uses the Srixon Z-UR golf ball, I-302 irons and forged wedges. He has won a career high of $2.2 million this year on tour.
Robert Allenby will make his fifth appearance in the Tour Championship, first since 2003. He plays the Z-UR golf ball, new Z-RW driver, I-506 irons and WG-706 forged wedges. He had a solid 2007 season with eight top-10 finishes, earnings over $2 million and is currently 26th in the FedExCup standings. Allenby ranks 21st in driving distance and ranks 14th in greens in regulations.
Tim Clark fired a final round 67 last week at the BMW Championship to earn a spot in this week’s Tour Championship. For Clark to make the top-30 field is a tremendous accomplishment since being hampered by a neck injury that limited his play to only 2 tournaments in the first 3 months of the season. He quickly accumulated points with four top-10’s, including two runner-up finishes and is currently 27th in the FedExCup standings. He has earned $1.8 million in 2007 using the Z-URS golf ball, the new I-701 Tour irons and forged wedges.
