LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The world’s largest, independent organization of golf equipment professionals, the Professional Clubmakers’ Society (PCS) announces an all-new conference to showcase the industry’s latest technology and custom-fitting techniques for golf equipment professionals. The 2008 PCS Golf Equipment Professional Technology Conference will be held at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla., January 12, 2008 through January 15, 2008.
"We’re excited to introduce the new 2008 PCS Golf Equipment Professional Technology Conference and to host the event at such as world-class resort as Innisbrook," says Christon Clark, PCS manager of finance and professional development. "The Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club is one of the premier golf destinations in the United States and we are confident everyone will have a great time. In addition, by holding the event near the PGA Merchandise Show, we can accommodate members who had not previously been able to attend our annual meetings in Louisville, and we’re able to give others an opportunity to come see what the PCS has to offer."
The 2008 PCS Golf Equipment Professional Technology Conference will feature trade show exhibits showcasing some of the golf equipment industry’s leading manufacturers; more than 30 educational workshops and seminars; a casual skins-style round of golf; and the annual PCS Awards Banquet to honor the 2008 Clubmaker of the Year nominees and winner, Top Shop awards and PCS Hall of Fame inductee.
The PCS technology conference will also provide attendees with a first-of-its-kind interactive experience with golf industry equipment manufacturers. During the Demo Day event, equipment vendors will be located across one of Innisbrook’s famed 18-hole golf courses, and PCS members and attendees will have opportunity to actually play test new products on the course and casually visit with vendors.
"This conference is the first of its kind for the PCS," adds Clark, "and we encourage our membership, as well as all golf equipment enthusiasts to join us at Innisbrook."
PCS provides invaluable information on the latest in golf equipment, supplies and accessories to its members through various print and online publications and educational courses. At the annual membership conference, PCS features equipment seminars approved by the PGA and LPGA, hands-on equipment testing, and workshops on club fitting, clubmaking and club repair. Perhaps the most valuable service offered by the PCS is its Certification Program which signifies a golf equipment professional has met the highest standard of academic proficiency, applied technology, and excellence in craftsmanship in the areas of club making, club fitting, and club repair.
