MADISON, WI – Laser Link Golf has been in the fight for years, and with the recent announcement by the British Professional Golfers’ Association stating they will allow rangefinders during their 2008 championships, the company now has a European ally in the fight against slow play. With this decision, major events such as the Irish PGA Championship, the Scottish PGA Championship, and the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship will allow the use of rangefinders during tournament play. Laser Link Golf is applauding their decision, and looking forward to working with the golf association in any way that they can to help ensure a successful program.
“Congratulations to the British PGA for a job well done,” said Rob O’Loughlin, president of Laser Link Golf. “This decision is good not only for championship participants, but for all of golf. Electronic measurement is a terrific way to help speed up the game, and the British PGA has taken the first step in spreading the message to the world.”
This announcement is a definite testament to the notion that hard work pays off. Laser Link Golf has been touting the benefits of using laser rangefinders for years, and having an organization with the stature of the British PGA validate their position is a significant pat on the back. They only hope that other golf associations will follow suit, and help to make the game faster and more enjoyable for everyone.
