CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Gogie Girl, LLC has been named an official licensee of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) for 2008 and 2009. Gogie Girl, a leader in headwear designed exclusively for women, will donate five percent of the profits generated by LPGA-branded products to The LPGA Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, for scholarships for junior golfers.
“Partnering with a women’s organization like the LPGA is an ideal fit for us since we’re a woman-owned business and we specialize in women’s headwear,” said Gogie Girl co-owners Cindy Gilmore and Vicky Waldorf, wife of touring professional Duffy Waldorf. “And donating a portion of our profits to The LPGA Foundation totally ties in with one of our corporate goals, which is to donate a percentage of all our profits to charity”.
Many major retailers carry the Gogie Girl line of hats, including Golfsmith, PGA Tour Superstores, Edwin Watts Golf, Roger Dunn, Van’s Golf Shops, and hundreds of green grass accounts across the United States. Gogie Girl hats will be worn by several well-known LPGA players in 2008.
Gogie Girl introduced a new line of women’s visors in three styles and seven colors, at the 2008 PGA Merchandise Show in January.
“We’re on our way to becoming the number-one brand in women’s headwear,” said John Gilmore, Gogie Girl CEO. “We’re very proud to partner with the LPGA and believe the long-term relationship is a win-win situation that will bring great success to Gogie Girl, the LPGA and the charities we both support.”
Gogie Girl is a manufacturer and marketer of baseball caps designed exclusively for women. The hats feature soft silk-like linings, fashion-forward colors, and enough room to wear a ponytail. A signature Swarovski crystal is added for a special Gogie Girl touch. The company’s experienced in-house design department adds a feminine touch to every Gogie Girl design, and creates custom logos for clients and business partners. Gogie Girl hats and visors are marketed through upscale retailers, golf club pro shops and major sporting goods stores worldwide.
The LPGA is the longest-running women’s professional sports association in the world, celebrating its 50th anniversary in the year 2000. Featuring the world’s best women golfers, the LPGA’s membership includes touring, teach and club professionals. The organization has grown from its roots as a playing tour into a non-profit organization involved in every facet of golf, and the LPGA and its tournaments have raised approximately $188 million for charity since 1981.
