Tour Launches Redesigned Web Site: Fans Get Closer Look At Players Inside and Outside the Ropes
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 10, 2008 – The Duramed FUTURES Tour, the LPGA’s developmental tour, kicks off its 2008 season this week at the Bright House Networks Open, March 14-16, in Lakeland, Fla. This event is the first of an 18-tournament schedule that travels to 15 states with a record season purse of $1.745 million. The schedule includes nine tournaments with purses of $100,000 or higher and a post-season, elite-field event worth $150,000.
The Tour web site has been redesigned to provide fans more access to the players, both inside and outside the ropes, and has a fresh new look designed to create energy and excitement for fans.
A new Entertainment section has been added to the site and will include unique stories and video about the Tour and its players throughout the year. In this section, fans will be able to sign up for an e-newsletter called “Outside the Ropes.” It will contain a behind-the-scenes look at life on Tour, player-community events, player photo gallery, trivia, contests and more. The section also will feature on-line video clips featuring tournament action, player interviews and news briefs and will contain the popular player blogs.
“The new web site is fan focused and was redesigned to give our fans a closer look at our players by not only showcasing their exceptional playing ability, but also their unique personalities,” said Zayra Calderon Duramed FUTURES Tour CEO. “These players are the future of the LPGA Tour and by introducing them to fans early in their careers, we begin to develop a player-fan relationship which continues to grow as the player moves onto the LPGA Tour.”
The Duramed FUTURES Tour has worked closely with the LPGA on the redesign of the web site to ensure synergy between the two sites and make it easy for fans to follow the action and players on both tours. To view the Tour web site, go to www.duramedfuturestour.com.
