Area?s first championship golf course on track for summer unveiling
DINUBA, Calif., April 23, 2008 – KemperSports today announced Joe Wisocki IV as general manager of the soon-to-open Ridge Creek Dinuba Golf Club, located 30 miles south ofFresno in Dinuba, Calif. Over the coming months, Wisocki will supervise pre-opening operations of the area’s first-ever, 18-hole championship golf course and oversee facility operations upon the course’s debut in July.
"Joe is very seasoned in the opening and ongoing operations of premier facilities,” said Steve Skinner, CEO of KemperSports. “He brings the skills from a well-established career in the golf industry to Ridge Creek as we prepare the course for its summer debut in Dinuba.”
Wisocki, whose career in the golf industry spans nearly 20 years, recently transitioned to Ridge Creek from Chambers Bay, the Washington-based golf course recently awarded the 2010 U.S. Amateur and 2015 U.S. Open Championships. In addition to being a part of the team that opened Chambers Bay last June, largely considered one of the biggest course debuts in 2007, Wisocki also played a key role in the openings and ongoing operations of The Wilderness at Fortune Bay, a nationally acclaimed resort course in Minnesota, and Heron Glen Golf Course in New Jersey, among other KemperSports-managed properties.
In 2003, KemperSports named Wisocki as “General Manager of the Year” and “Retailer of the Year.” Two years later, he achieved designation as a Certified Professional in General Management from the PGA, followed by “Merchandiser of the Year” honors from the Minnesota Section of the PGA in 2006.
Wisocki has been a member of The PGA of America since 1992. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Benedictine College in Kansas.
Owned by the city of Dinuba and developed by KemperSports, Ridge Creek Dinuba Golf Club is scheduled to open this July. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based John Fought steered the design of the par-72, upscale daily-fee course, strategically incorporating natural grasses and bunkers to produce a heathland golf experience as found in the classic courses of England. Construction of a clubhouse and a state-of-the-art 360-degree practice facility, featuring the largest driving range west of the Rockies, are also nearing completion.
