GCM picks up seven awards in ’07
Golf Course Management, the official publication of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), took six first-place awards and one merit award – more top honors than any other golf industry publication – back to the association’s Lawrence, Kan., headquarters from the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association’s (TOCA) awards ceremony May 8, in Minneapolis, Minn.
First-place awards:
* Roger Billings, GCM senior art/production manager – “King of apparel” (November) photo story (two or more photographs to illustrate an article in a printed magazine)

* Seth Jones, GCM senior associate editor – “A Shark’s tale” (December) general feature article (magazine-staff written)
* Scott Hollister, GCM editor – “From tee off to face off” (March) headline writing
Merit award:
* Peter Bronski, freelance writer – “Playing the numbers game” (February) environmental stewardship article
In addition, GCM Editor-in-Chief Ed Hiscock was re-elected to a second year as the president of TOCA.
TOCA is composed of editors, writers, publishers, photographers, public relations/advertising practitioners, industry association leaders and others involved in golf course maintenance and other green industry communications.
