CHICAGO – June 11, 2008 – Wilson Golf, a division of Chicago-based Wilson Sporting Goods, today announced a lineup of new sales representatives that will help it meet increased consumer demand for the Wilson Staff brand, reinforce its commitment to first-rate customer service and continue a year of marked innovation and product launches.
The latest wave of representatives to join the Wilson Golf sales corps have been assigned to territories across the United States, allowing a more concentrated focus on existing accounts and the resources necessary to foster recently implemented business development goals.
The new appointments and their corresponding territories include:
Scott Bolmeier (Iowa and Nebraska); Mark Butterworth (Connecticut and Massachusetts); Al Fiscus (Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi); Chris Frey (Ohio); Mike Hanschke (Wisconsin); Art Jakovics (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.); Tom Richardson (Indiana); Robert Schultze (Northern California); Brian Sparrow (North Carolina); and Rob Spencer (Kentucky and Tennessee).
“The need to strengthen our sales force stems directly from our recent investments in R&D and the premium products originating from that process,” said Tim Clarke, general manager of Wilson Golf. “Our new team members will continue to enhance our service capabilities while building a solid foundation for Wilson Golf’s ongoing growth.”
The addition of new sales representatives is the latest sign of momentum for Wilson Golf in 2008, a year in which the company has launched a robust offering of products, highlighted by the Wilson Staff Ci7 and Pi7 series of irons, the FYbrid family of long-distance fairway utility clubs, and the Zip ball. The Zip was awarded a gold rating on Golf Digest’s 2008 “Hot List,” and the Ci7 took top honors in GOLF Magazine’s ClubTest 2008, winning the iron category with a perfect five-star rating.
Among Wilson Staff’s professional stable, D.J. Trahan kicked off the season with his second TOUR win at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic using Wilson Staff prototype Fg59 irons. Padraig Harrington, reigning British Open champion and 2007 European Player of the Year, has also recorded a strong 2008 campaign, including a top-five finish at The Masters.
Since 1911, Wilson engineers and designers have developed and designed more irons than any other golf company in the world, including those played by golf legend Sam Snead and reigning British Open champion Padraig Harrington. To date, 59 major championships have been won with Wilson Staff irons, a milestone that far exceeds any other iron in history.
