Charged with membership sales of Lodestone Golf Club and The Clubs at Wisp
McHenry, MD- Wisp Resort Development Inc. and OB Sports Golf Management recently announced the appointment of Karen Forsythe as the director of membership sales for Lodestone Golf Club and The Clubs at Wisp. In this new role, Karen will be responsible for the sales and promotion of membership opportunities at the new Lodestone Golf Club. Located on an expansive mountain ridge above Deep Creek Lake and the famous Wisp Resort, Lodestone Golf Club will become the region’s premier private golf club. Boasting a stunning 18 hole course designed by three-time U.S. Open winner Hale Irwin in collaboration with Todd Schoeder of Denver-based Design Workshop, the club will offer a wide range of mountain and lakeside amenities that capitalize on all four seasons.
Karen, who will work under the direction of Wisp Resort Development, Inc and the clubs management company, OB Sports will be charged with communicating membership opportunities that include Lodestone’s Full Golf Membership, Sports Memberships, Mountain Lifestyle Membership and future Alpine Club and Lakeside Club membership offerings.

The appointment is a homecoming of sorts as Karen served as a sales manager at the on-property Wisp Resort from 1997 to 2001. She has an extensive sales and marketing background that includes positions as the public relations and marketing director for Health First Medical Center (2006-2008) and as the sales and servicing relationship manager for Heartland Payment Systems (2005 – 2006). Prior to her role at Heartland Payment Systems she garnered golf-related experience when she was the sales and marketing manager for the 84 Lumber Classic (a PGA Tour event) in 2004. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration Management from Westminster College.
