PEBBLE BEACH – Adam Heieck has been promoted to the position of executive director of the award-winning Northern California Golf Association Foundation.
Formerly the managing director, Heieck assumed leadership of the Foundation in 2004. Under his guidance, the charitable arm of the NCGA has seen its annual programming and grant making increase from $30,000 to a projected $600,000 in 2008. Assets increased from $725,000 to a projected $3.5 million and annual income grew from $350,000 to an estimated $1.4 million.
“Adam Heieck is the driving force behind the success of the NCGA Foundation and our programs to benefit deserving youth,” said NCGA Foundation President Paul Morton. “Because of his leadership, the Foundation is making a difference for thousands of kids across Northern California – kids who are learning valuable life skills through the game of golf.”
Perhaps Heieck’s greatest achievement is the creation of the pioneering Youth on Course program which was recognized by The First Tee with its prestigious national “Founders Award” in 2007. The program, which offers qualifying juniors the opportunity to play golf at 80 courses throughout the region for an average of only $2, has become a model for other regional golf associations.
“Adam’s energy and enthusiasm for helping kids through golf is contagious and has had a tremendous impact on the entire Association,” NCGA President Mark House said. “This promotion reflects the excellence he has demonstrated as the Foundation continues to enjoy unprecedented success.”
