Eagle Mountain, Longbow and Duke Each Award $500 Scholarships to Dependents of Cardholders
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Stephanie Hurst, Alyssa Vogan and Madison Savoy, each recently received a $500 scholarship as part of a value-added benefit from each course’s, Eagle Mountain, Longbow and the Duke, 2008 Club Cards. The scholarships are available to the college-bound dependents of the cardholders.
“I am very appreciative of The Duke and OB Sports offering this scholarship,” stated Madison Savoy, who is headed to Dixie State College in St. George, Utah. “College costs are constantly rising and this scholarship will certainly help me offset some of my first-year expenses.”
“I think that this was a great idea and an extra incentive for my father when deciding on getting the card or not,” said Alyssa Vogan. “The extra money from this scholarship will certainly come in handy; I can’t thank Eagle Mountain enough!”
“When got the call from Jay Larscheid (General Manager and Director of Golf at Longbow), I didn’t believe them at all – I have never won anything,” stated Stephanie Hurst. “Both of my parents were extremely delighted; it felt great to win, not to mention the extra cash will be useful next year at school.”
Established in 2008, this program was created to provide an opportunity for children of current OB Sports Cardholders who have enrolled in the card/loyalty programs at participating facilities to apply for a scholarship to be utilized for college tuition. Its purpose is to encourage the attainment of higher education goals by children of OB Sports Cardholders, based on achieving a high level of academic success during high school or college. In total, twelve $500 scholarships will be awarded from a number of participating OB Sports-managed facilities this year.
“Congratulations to Stephanie, Alyssa and Madison!” stated Phil Green, president of OB Sports, the management company at Eagle Mountain, Longbow and The Duke Golf Clubs. “We are pleased to offer these scholarship opportunities and provide yet another unique added value to the popular loyalty programs at these facilities.”
