PINEHURST, N.C. – The Country Club of North Carolina has filled a key position of its executive team with the hiring of Kathee Dishner as club manager.
Dishner came to CCNC on July 30 after 11 years as vice president of operations for Signet Golf Associates in Pinehurst, a golf management firm. Prior to that, she was resort manager at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club for 10 years.
Dishner was among nearly three dozen candidates interviewed for the club manager position. She impressed the club’s leadership with her extensive background in management, attention to detail and team-oriented approach to operations.
“We had several criteria in mind – excellent communication skills, high integrity and a good background from a knowledge standpoint. Kathee was outstanding in all categories,” said Dick Schwob, chairman of the house committee. “We felt she would bring to the Country Club of North Carolina exactly what we wanted in terms of a club manager, and we’ve been excited and elated with her performance so far.”
Dishner joins a senior management team that includes CFO Joann Phillips and director of golf Jeff Dotson. In her new role, she oversees clubhouse operations, member relations, the food & beverage department, maintenance, housekeeping, the pool & tennis center and security.
“The Country Club of North Carolina is steeped in tradition and has a stellar reputation,” said Dishner. “I feel very fortunate to be working for such a prestigious club.”
Dishner said she is most excited about focusing on one facility after directing operations at a number of golf clubs throughout the Southeast for Signet Golf.
“I’ve been in the Pinehurst area 22 years and this is the right fit,” she said. “It allows me to utilize my hands-on approach to management for a single organization as opposed to spreading it across several golf clubs.”
Dishner, a Virginia native, holds a degree in communications from James Madison University. She and her husband, Jess, have two daughters: Brandee (26) and Brittney (20).
The Country Club of North Carolina is a private, gated community featuring two of the best golf courses in the South. Its distinguished membership stretches across the state, the nation and internationally.
