Sanchez to oversee the company’s engineering, supply chain, sourcing, procurement and all manufacturing operations
CARLSBAD, Calif. (September 30th, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company has promoted Pete Sanchez to the position of chief operations officer. In his new role, Sanchez will oversee the company’s engineering, supply chain, sourcing, procurement and all manufacturing operations.
“When we look at future growth, we believe that Pete’s expertise and ability to successfully integrate all of the key functions required to deliver maximum efficiency in our supply chain process will pay large dividends for us. Over his 35-plus year career, Pete has been involved in all facets of golf equipment manufacturing and he is a natural choice to lead our global operations,” said Mark King, TaylorMade-adidas Golf president and CEO.
Sanchez joined TaylorMade-adidas Golf on April 23, 2008, as vice president of business development after serving as president and chief operating officer of Fujikura Composites since 2001.
“Becoming a part of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf family has confirmed what I already knew – this is a company full of golfers who are committed to creating the best experience for fellow golfers through the highest-performing equipment,” said Sanchez. “I’m excited about this new opportunity where we can take an already successful manufacturing operation and combine it with some best practices of other processes I’ve experienced to make us more efficient. Ultimately we’ll be able to better serve our customers and golfers around the world.”
Under Sanchez’s direction, Fujikura became the most-played metalwood shaft brand on the PGA Tour and Fujikura shafts have been the primary shaft option in TaylorMade metalwoods, the best-selling brand of metalwoods in the world. Prior to joining Fujikura, he spent nearly 30 years working with Cast Alloy and Four Star Foundry. As general manager of Cast Alloy, he helped make the company one of the “go-to” casting facilities for golf club manufacturers.
