(RIDGEFIELD, CT) – Boccieri Golf – maker of the TOUR-proven Heavy Putter – announces that Martin Cummins, a PGA Professional since 1996, has been promoted to full time PGA European Tour Representative and Director of Sales for the European market to help service the rapidly growing demand for the company’s revolutionary, game-enhancing putters.
Part of the PGA European Tour since 2006 and serving as Boccieri Golf’s European Tour Representative since earlier this year, Cummins routinely secured top performing players to use the Heavy Putter in tournament play. As a result, Boccieri Golf experienced its most successful year on the European tour, including one victory, two runner-up finishes and several top-10 performances.
Cummins new duties include overseeing Boccieri Golf’s established European distributor network to help drive sales, as well as facilitating retail training sessions.
“Martin has been one of the powerful forces behind our success on the European Tour in 2008,” says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf and inventor of the Heavy Putter. “Boccieri Golf will be unveiling several groundbreaking models in 2009 and we believe Martin will continue growing the Heavy Putter brand.”
Introduced in early 2005, the Heavy Putter quickly established itself in the industry and is now carried in 50 states, 30 overseas markets and in many of the finest off-course shops and most prestigious golf courses, country clubs and resorts worldwide.
In late 2007, the company released the Heavy Putter Deep Face Series, featuring two blades and three mallets, each with a raised center of gravity on the clubface that more closely aligns the sweet spot of the putter with that of the golf ball for improved overall performance. Following the success of the Deep Face series the company released two models in the line, the C2-B and G3-B in a rich black PVD finish.
About the Heavy Putter
The Heavy Putter remains the first and only putter that automatically improves the consistency of the putting stroke. Its unprecedented application of a heavier mass head and counter-balanced weight in the grip end of the shaft promotes greater stroke stability, consistent swing paths, uniform pace, precise distance and directional control, and tightens the end-over-end golf ball roll.
Troy Matteson used the Heavy Putter to win the PGA TOUR’s Frys.com Open en route to five consecutive top-10 finishes. In addition, the Heavy Putter has contributed to a victory and three top-five finishes on the 2008 European PGA TOUR. Asian PGA TOUR, Canadian and Nationwide Tour champions have also won with the Heavy Putter, which has been used in competition by major-tournament winners.
