Former IMG Senior Executive Joins Leading Wellness Products Brand
(LARKSPUR, California) – Clarus Transphase Scientific, Inc. – developer and manufacturer of Q-Link and other wellness products featuring Sympathetic Resonance Technology (SRT-3) – announces that former IMG Vice President and corporate attorney Drew Mearns has been hired as Head of Business Development.
In his new role, Mearns will help develop and establish innovative partnerships for Clarus across a variety of sports, wellness and lifestyle markets. This will include taking a global perspective on growing all aspects of the company’s business, including new product development, alongside its existing range of field-based technology offerings.
Mearns’ 30 years of high-level experience includes establishing and managing the Athletics & Fitness Division for International Management Group (IMG), the world’s largest sports marketing and management firm, as well as developing and managing numerous sports, fitness and wellness promotions and strategic alliances for clients as diverse as Footlocker, Dunkin Donuts, Levi Strauss, Reebok and many others.
An attorney with a diverse legal background, Mearns began his career coaching track and cross country at NCAA powerhouses University of Virginia and University of Kentucky, before practicing corporate law in Cleveland for international firm Jones Day.

A devoted educator, coach and sports business developer, Mearns founded and managed Heritage Sports, a multi-million dollar marketing, promotions and management firm and still serves as the Executive Director of Action Sports Alliance, Inc., an association he founded to represent and support female action sports professionals. Through Mearns’ leadership, theAlliance recently secured an historic agreement which will bring pay parity to female XGames athletes in 2009 for the first time in more than 14 years. Mearns regularly lectures at universities and conferences on sports, ethics and social issues.

A magna cum laude graduate from Yale University, Mearns also conducted graduate studies at Oxford University and the University of Kentucky before earning a law degree from theUniversity of Virginia. He and his wife have five children, and all are active athletes.
