Resort & Golf Marketing Expands Staff

Adds public relations and hospitality expert Barry Godwin

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (February 6, 2009) – Resort & Golf Marketing, Michigan’s premier marketing firm for tourism entities, is adding a new associate, Barry Godwin of the Godwin Group. Barry will provide public relations services for R&GM clients effective February 2009.

Barry Godwin is a veteran in the hospitality and tourism business in Northern Michigan. Barry is a graduate of Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality and for many years was the marketing and public relations director with Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire.

In 2004 he established The Godwin Group in Traverse City. The Godwin Group focuses on tourism related businesses providing them with a wide range of marketing and public relations services. Clients have included The Homestead, Sleeping Bear Dunes Visitors Bureau, West Michigan Tourist Association, Circle Michigan, and variety of Traverse City businesses. Barry maintains memberships in several civic and professional organizations including the Golf Writers Association of America.

Godwin will be involved in every aspect of promoting Michigan tourism and resort promotion for Resort & Golf Marketing. He will primarily focus his efforts on northern Michigan and R&GM clients in the region by hosting media members, developing press releases, and providing results oriented public relations opportunities.
