NORTHBROOK, Ill., Feb. 17, 2009 – KemperSports recently named Ted Goodenow general manager of Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, Md. The highly ranked and rated public golf facility is located 45 miles north of Washington, D.C. Goodenow, who has been with KemperSports for seven years, most recently served as the membership sales director at Holly Hills Country Club, also located in Ijamsville.

“Ted has consistently proven to be a truly dedicated and successful leader of the KemperSports team,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “His leadership, customer-focused attitude and passion for the game of golf will be a great asset to Whiskey Creek.”

Whiskey Creek Golf Club represents the first design venture of PGA TOUR star and three-time major champion, Ernie Els, who partnered with JMP Golf Design Group to create the 18-hole championship track. Bounded by a high ridge of hardwoods, the par-72 features wetlands, stone walls, streams and dramatic views of the scenic Catoctin Mountains.

The course recently received a 4-star rating from Golf Digest as well as a No. 4 ranking in Golfweek Magazine’s list of America’s Best Public-Access Courses for Maryland.

Goodenow is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., with a Bachelor’s Degree in finance. His experience in the sales field earned him awards as the 2007 KemperSports sales person of the year and membership director of the year.
