SAN DIEGO, CA. – Heritage Golf Group is pleased to announce that Layne Ricks, General Manager at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club in Katy, Texas, was recently elected Vice President of the Eastern Chapter of the Southern Texas Section of the PGA of America. The election, which took place last November, marks Ricks’ first venture into the leadership of the STPGA. As the Eastern Chapter Vice President, Ricks will serve on the Southern Texas PGA Board of Directors for the next two years (2009-2010).

The Southern Texas Section of the PGA of America was founded in 1968. The STPGA’s mission is to promote enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf, and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry. The organization accomplishes its mission by working to enhance the skills of its professionals and to provide opportunities for amateurs, employers, manufacturers and the general public within the golf industry.
Ricks has been a PGA Member since 1986 and General Manager at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club since 2006. He previously served at several area clubs including Lochinvar Golf Club as their Head Golf Professional and as the Director of the Meadowbrook Farms School of Golf.
