5-under-par remains the benchmark for the Kodak Challenge leaderboard; Sutherland eagles to join Holmes, Trahan and DiMarco
March 15, 2009 – J.B. Holmes and Chris DiMarco were joined by Kevin Sutherland and D.J. Trahan as co-leaders of the Kodak Challenge. Kevin Sutherland has been steadily climbing up the Kodak Challenge leaderboard and an eagle on Thursday propelled him to the top spot for the first time this season. Sutherland has increased his odds of being on the leaderboard by playing six of the first eight holes of the Kodak Challenge and can continue to capitalize with a hefty schedule. As the PGA TOUR season gets into the full swing of things, the Kodak Challenge is also beginning to see some big name players on the leaderboard. Zach Johnson, Ernie Els, Justin Leonard and Ryuji Imada are all tied for second, however, they must play at least 18 Kodak Challenge holes to be eligible to win $1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy. The Kodak Challenge will resume in two weeks with the 18th hole at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard in Orlando, FL.
Current Kodak Challenge Leaderboard (Year-to-date)
Name Score Holes

J.B. Holmes -5 6
D.J. Trahan -5 6
Chris DiMarco -5 5
**17 others tied for 2nd place
A look ahead – About the 18th hole at Arnold Palmer Invitational
This finishing hole looks simpler on paper. At 441 yards, the par 4 18th hole is straight away to a wide fairway, but that’s where simple ends. The large, kidney shaped green is fronted by rocks and water, requiring a longer carry to the right half. The bunkers left of the green await errant shots of the hydrophobic. In 2008, there were zero eagles, 44 birdies, 253 pars, 50 bogeys and 19 double bogeys.
