LEBANON, PA. (March 17, 2009) – Mike Sisti, marketing manager for LebanonTurf, has been named to the board of directors of Project EverGreen, a national initiative of green industry companies, trade associations and end-users created to educate and inform consumers about the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of well-maintained green spaces.

“We’re extremely pleased to have someone of Mike Sisti’s energy, excitement and experience join our board,” said Chris Kujawa, president of the Project EverGreen board and owner of Kujawa Enterprises, a landscape management contractor in Oak Creek, Wis. “His guidance and the support of LebanonTurf are wonderful additions to our project.”

The five-year-old Project EverGreen organization provides information to consumers and conducts projects across the country to demonstrate the benefits of managing green spaces effectively.

“I’m delighted to be a part of Project Evergreen’s efforts to preserve and enhance green space,” said Sisti, who joined LebanonTurf in 2007. “It is gratifying to know that the project’s efforts will have long-lasting benefits for the environment, as well as for current and future generations.”

Project EverGreen Executive Director Den Gardner noted that Sisti and LebanonTurf are “taking a leadership role through their actions,” which include adding the Project EverGreen logo to bags of LebanonTurf fertilizer and making a donation to the project when end-users request information about the company’s new NutriLife fertilizer meta-catalyst.

Project EverGreen’s signature program is GreenCare for Troops, which provides complimentary lawn and landscape services to military families where the major breadwinner is serving overseas. In the last three years, the program has helped 7,500 families through a national network of 2,200 volunteers. Beginning this month and continuing through May, Project EverGreen is expanding the program with what it is calling Buck It Up for Our Military Families. The new program will raise money for scholarships for military family members planning a career in the horticultural field.
