Culinary Veteran to Oversee Expanded Menus and Dinner Offerings
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning public course owned by The St. Joe Company and operated by Billy Casper Golf – has named culinary veteran Patrick Noonan executive chef at its neighborhood-oriented restaurant and grill.
Chef Patrick brings more than 32 years of culinary experience and expertise to the newly created head chef position. His background runs the gamut from fine dining and main-stream Americana (Champps Americana) to large-group catering and golf resort food and beverage. He has extensive experience in culinary design, special menu creation, recipes and presentation, and will oversee an expansion of SouthWood’s breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
“We are excited to introduce Chef Patrick and his culinary style to our customer base and to create a more memorable dining experience rooted in quality and presentation,” says SouthWood general manager Beth Murphy. “Tapping Chef Patrick’s extensive and diverse restaurant and food service background, we will roll out menu and service span changes, including a new dinner menu and seven-day-a-week service.”
“SouthWood has carved out an exciting dining niche in Tallahassee’s eastside,” says Noonan. “I look forward building on this success and implementing new menus and programs that take the culinary experience to the next level.”
The restaurant and grill are centerpieces of the golf course’s clubhouse, a 7,200-square-foot building with a wrap-around porch facing the 18th hole. The dining room, which seats 100 guests, is balanced by a monumental cherry and granite fireplace and a handsome bar. The interior has vaulted ceilings with exposed structure and full height windows providing an abundance of natural light. It was recognized by the prestigious ZAGAT Survey as one of “America’s Best 19th Holes.
