Herrera Finishes in Second Place Playing Fourteen Golf Clubs
IRVINE, CA – November 2, 2009 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized worldwide amongst top touring golf professionals as the foremost leading wedge designer and manufacturer, announced today that staff player, Eduardo Herrera, placed second in the recent Canadian Professional Golf Tour Riviera Nayarit Classic presented by IDN at Punta Mita Club de Golf in Nayarit, Mexico.
In addition to his second place finish at this event, Herrera won the TLA Players Championship in Acapulco, Mexico earlier this year and he finished in second place at the First Stage of PGA Tour Qualifying at Grasslands Golf & Country Club in Lakeland, FL this week. He is currently ranked 4th on the Tour de Las Americas rankings for 2009. “We congratulate Eduardo on his top finish at this event,” said Marcy Kamoda, FOURTEEN GOLF COO. “He has been a strong supporter of FOURTEEN GOLF and we look forward to his continued success during the upcoming 2010 season.”
Herrera plays Fourteen’s SF-206 Fairway Woods, TC-910FG Forged Irons and 54 and 60-degree MT-28 V4 wedges. The SF-206 Fairway Woods combine the best of accuracy and distance into a simple design with amazing performance benefits. Eduardo just started using the new TC-910 Forged Irons which are designed for the low handicap to professional player. These traditional shaped irons provide ultimate controllability and playability and allow precision shotmaking, trajectory control and refining distance control. The MT-28 V4 wedge series provides exceptional spin and ultimate short game performance.
“I would like to thank Fourteen Golf for believing in my comeback to the international arena of golf,” said Herrera. “I played my new irons with great precision. They were the right tools for me to use to reach this championship level and I am happy to return to the winning circle.”
Herrera was the first Colombian golfer to be featured in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings. He has been using Fourteen Golf clubs for two years and plays on the Japan Golf Tour, Canadian Professional Golf Tour and Tour de Las Americas.
FOURTEEN GOLF understands the importance of the short game, this significant portion of the game has created an unprecedented demand on most tours for their signature series of wedges. The company prides itself on the nine titles won this year using their short game arsenal.
FOURTEEN GOLF in Japan established itself in 1981 as a premier golf equipment design company. The highly successful venture developed exclusive designs for Titleist, Yamaha, Srixon (formerly Dunlop Japan), Wilson, PRGR, and many more. The original team was credited with developing the first hybrid iron and the highly popular “Citation” cavity iron by Power Bilt which was one of the most popular irons of the 1980s. In the year 2000, the business transitioned into branded design and manufacturing company.
The name “Fourteen” is based on the fundamental rule of golf which states that the player can carry up to 14 golf clubs in their bag. FOURTEEN GOLF strives to produce the best 14 clubs ever. FOURTEEN GOLF aims to achieve the ultimate in club characteristics which allow golfers to hit shots they didn’t think possible. These clubs bring out the strength in a player. Like their “feather” moniker which represent the best scores in golf; a birdie, eagle, and albatross, these clubs will bring out the best scores for any golfer, professional or amateur.
