Eight Luxury Villas Ready for January, Additional 28 by Spring 2010
(ROATAN, Honduras) – Pristine Bay Resort and Black Pearl Golf Course, one of the western Caribbean’s most-anticipated residential and resort communities and championship golf courses, announce eight luxury villas will be ready for occupancy by January, with another 28 coming online by mid-2010.
Starting at $600,000, many villas offer spectacular golf course and ocean vistas. The Black Pearl, Roatan’s first golf course, will open nine holes for play in February, and the full 18 in April. Designed by the legendary father-son duo of Pete and Perry Dye, The Black Pearl features 14 holes with Caribbean views and a signature Dye, island- green par 3.
“Our strong year continues and further validates that Pristine Bay Resort is a sought-after location for primary and vacation homes and a relative value when compared with other resort golf developments in the U.S. and Caribbean,” says Mario Toriello, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Pristine Bay Resort. “With the completion of Roatan’s second cruise dock, direct flights from the U.S. to the island’s international airport, and our location along the Meso- American Barrier Reef, we anticipate a stellar 2010.”
Perfect for retirees or second-home owners, Roatan has exceptionally favorable property and tax laws for foreigners. They can own up to three-quarters of an acre and Pristine Bay offers all-important title insurance. Property taxes are approximately $1.30 for every $1,000 of assessed value and there are no income tax, sales tax or import duties.
Two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas are available, as are one- quarter-acre custom home lots, many with unobstructed ocean views. Condominiums are another option for retirees and / or second-home seekers, ranging from $348,000 to $700,000.
Pristine Bay’s residential beach club is also rapidly approaching completion. Expected to open in time for the Easter holiday, it’s highlighted by a three-tier pool, three tennis courts and a large, private, sugar-sand beach. A second beach club for guests of the coming-soon, 120-room, five-star Resort and Spa at Pristine Bay is in the planning stages.

About Pristine Bay Resort
Located on the lush, tropical island of Roatan, 35 miles off the coast of Honduras, Pristine Bay Resort is situated on a 400+ acre site adjacent to the Caribbean Sea. The azure waters off the coast of the island, enhanced by the world’s second largest barrier reef, provide a stunning backdrop and one of the truly unique settings for golf in Central America.
The Black Pearl, Dye’s first project in Honduras and Roatan’s first golf course, is an 18-hole, par-72 resort layout measuring 7,179 yards from the back tees. The course starts at the ocean’s doorstep, rises into the island’s rolling foothills, then takes golfers on a wild ride back to the seaside clubhouse. It will feature one of Dye’s signature island greens, and 14 holes will offer stunning vistas of the ocean and the Meso-American Barrier Reef.
A state-of-the-art practice facility, including short game area and multiple putting and chipping greens is being developed in concert with the golf course to host a variety of instructional programs. The goal being to create an atmosphere of game-improvement, one that encourages guests and residents to enhance their skill sets while honing their games on one of the region’s most playable layouts.
Dye Designs, pioneers of the use of Paspalum turf for tropics-based projects, is grassing The Black Pearl with this salt-water tolerant strand known for its environmental compatibility, ease of irrigation and maintenance, and translucent green hue. Its appearance – juxtaposed against the turquoise waters offshore – inspired The Black Pearl’s tagline: “The Best Greens and the Best Blues.”
Pristine Bay Resort features a wide variety of residential products including: bay view and golf course condominiums, two-, three-, and four-bedroom villa units and one-quarter-acre custom home lots, many with unobstructed views of the ocean.
