The Verizon Heritage Provides Another Top-10 Finish For Fourteen Golf

IRVINE, CA – APRIL 19, 2010 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized as a worldwide leader in wedge design and a known favorite amongst top touring golf professionals, announced today that several PGA Professionals played FOURTEEN GOLF equipment at the Verizon Heritage but one capable professional captured his first Top-10 of the 2010 PGA Tour season using the new MT-28 V5 wedge.

The new MT-28 V5 wedge represents a long legacy of winning wedges. Its predecessor, the MT-28 V4 is known on several professional tours as the “go to club” or the “money maker.” Its exceptional performance has positioned FOURTEEN as the wedge authority.

According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “Every time a professional trusts and plays with a FOURTEEN GOLF product, we are proud. These golfers rely on their equipment to compete, to win, and most importantly to take home a paycheck. This veteran PGA Professional earned a Top-10 finish and his largest purse of the year.”

In preparation for the new groove policy on the professional tours such as the PGA and LPGA, the company spent years engineering a new head and groove combination for the MT-28 V5 that would be in compliance with the USGA’s requirements and yet maintained the ultimate spin rate. The company not only met that objective but exceeded their expectations.

The MT-28 V5 wedge features a classically design head which features its signature FOURTEEN “reverse taper design” but has been improved by adding a groove strategically located in between the club sole and blade portion of the wedge. This structural change allowed the engineers to move the CG to a higher more stabilizing position for more precise shots.

For exceptional spin and control, the entirely new unique trapezoidal shaped groove works in unison with the MT-28 V5 highly engineered head. In fact, this combination was tested in a variety of conditions and it outperformed the MT-28 V4 in wet soggy conditions and maintained the same spin rate in dry conditions. The trapezoidal groove also undergoes a mirror-face milling process which precisely and carefully mills each groove for optimal spin.

“We credit the new grooves and new head designs to our continued growth and success on all tours. In fact, on the Asian Tour the FOURTEEN GOLF TC-910FG is the #1 Iron model played,” adds Kamoda.

Last year during the 2009 Golf Season, FOURTEEN GOLF was proudly credited with 10 professional golf victories; six which came from the LPGA and includes the HSBC Women’s Championship, Sybase Classic Presented by ShopRite, P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship Presented by John Q. Hammons, Sybase Classic Presented by ShopRite, Safeway Classic Presented by Coca Cola and the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger. The other wins came from a variety of professional tours including the HP Byron Nelson championship on the PGA, Master CG Ladies on the JLPGA, ILOVENY Championship on the Futures Tour and the Canadian Professional Golf Tour Riviera Nayarit Classic on the TLA.
