COLUMBUS, Ga., April 23, 2010 — Roy Nix, Executive Director of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP), a leader in the advancement of custom clubfitting and clubmaking education, proudly announces that the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) has awarded the AGCP 5th Annual Roundtable Education Conference MSR points for PGA member continuing Education Credit.
The AGCP was notified Thursday April 22, 2010 by Mr. Thomas Galvin of PGA Education that the MSR Credits had been awarded for the AGCP Education Conference to be held September 29, 30, October 1, 2, 2010 at the Historic Columbus Irons Works and Trade Center in Columbus, Georgia. One of the featured speakers for the AGCP at this year’s conference will be Eric Hogge, Head Professional at the PGA Learning Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Eric attended the conference last year and will be returning as a speaker this year.
In addition to Tom Wishon of Tom Wishon Golf Technologies who is the Star and Main Speaker for this year’s conference, all of the speakers for RT-5, are Certified as Qualified at level 8 or higher members of the AGCP. The AGCP certifies clubfitters from Level 1 through 10 based on education, experience and passing an essay test on their abilities. Above Level 10 the highest achievement for an AGCP member is the Master of Golf Club Technology which requires a testing period and peer review. Seven of the speakers for the RT-5 Education Conference, Roy Nix, Jerry Lovell, Russ Ryden, Bill Kelly, Keith Chatham, Dana Upshaw and Jerry Hoefling are Master Clubfitters with national and international recognition and combined, represent over 130 years of clubmaking/clubfitting experience. Roy Nix having also been a Head Golf Professional at 2 different golf course in the Columbus before back problems prevented him from playing golf for a few decades.
