Packages Start at $170 at the Highly Acclaimed Amenity of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel; Annual ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ Event set for Oct. 18; CDA Casino Announces ‘Saves Program’ to Benefit Youths with Diabetes
(WORLEY, ID) – Highly acclaimed Circling Raven Golf Club – an amenity of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel in the Idaho panhandle – is in prime playing shape as the 2010 golf season heads into its final stages. And thanks to the special “shoulder season” stay-and-play packages that kicked in Oct. 4, now is the time to take advantage of a chance to play one of America’s best public courses at bargain rates.
From now through the end of the golf season on Oct. 18, stay-and-play rates at Circling Raven – located just a short, scenic ride from eastern Washington’s Spokane Airport – are just $170 Sunday through Thursday and $199 on Friday and Saturdays. These prices (based on double occupancy) include a round of 18 holes of golf, cart, GPS, use of the 25-acre, state-of-the-art practice facility and one night accommodation at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.
The club will not be conducting any course maintenance projects until after it closes on Oct. 19. Additional rounds of golf are available Monday through Thursday for just $55 and $65 on Friday through Sunday.
Circling Raven has been lauded by numerous national golf publications since opening for its first full season in 2004. Last month, it was ranked in the Top-100 of GOLF Magazine’s biennial list of the Top 100 “Courses You Can Play” in America – out of roughly 13,500 U.S. public-access courses – and was also rated No. 1 in Idaho in Golfweek’s ‘Best Courses You Can Play’ state-by-state rankings.
Also last month, Circling Raven and its Director of Golf Tom Davidson were named PGA Merchandiser of the Year by the PGA of America. The honor marked the first time a PGA Professional from the Pacific Northwest has been named PGA “Merchandiser of the Year” nationally since the award was established in 1978.
These esteemed honors make the “shoulder season” rates even more extraordinary. Green fees alone at most Top-100 courses – and many non-Top-100 tracks – cost substantially more than $100, let alone include lodging and the many post-golf gaming options available at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel. This is partly why Circling Raven, is considered one of the world’s great golf values.

Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Announces Saves Program to Benefit Camp STIX
Camp STIX, a community-based summer camp in northeastern Washington for children and teens battling diabetes, will be awarded $1 by the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort each time a goalie on the Spokane Chiefs junior ice hockey team makes a save this season.
“We are proud to donate the funds raised through the Coeur d’Alene Casino Saves Program to Camp STIX,” said Dave LaSarte Meeks, CEO of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel. “With the high incidence of diabetes within the Native American community and the children living in the surrounding communities, we are pleased to be a part of making it possible for children with diabetes to enjoy going to camp.”
Camp STIX is held at Bear Paw Camp and Retreat Center on the Pend Oreille River near Newport, Washington every summer for youths ages 8 to 18. The Spokane Chiefs play in the Western Hockey League and their home games are played at the Spokane Arena.
About Circling Raven Golf Club and Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel
Owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and convenient to Spokane (WA) airport, the casino resort and golf club are nestled on a reservation covering 345,000 acres of mountains, lakes, old-growth forest and farmland. The resort spans the western edge of the northern Rocky Mountains. Tribal history also tells us that Circling Raven was a spiritually powerful leader, his name coming from his close relationship to the raven, who helped guide him on his journeys, warn him of danger and show him where to find fish and game.
Circling Raven was created amid a unique blend of wetlands, grasslands and woodlands. At 7,189 yards, the par 72 championship layout meanders through 620 acres, only 100 representing cultivated ground. Wildlife is abundant, including elk, deer, moose and an occasional black bear. In fact, the opening was delayed due to damage on two greens by migrating elk.

It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week every day of the year.
The resort is regularly voted the most popular casino in the Inland Northwest and is currently undergoing an expansion project that will include two new four-story buildings, a centerpiece pub area, a gourmet steakhouse, fitness center, a 15,000 square-foot deluxe spa and pool and a 10-acre “front yard” that will offer a natural amphitheater for concerts and other outdoor events. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2011.
