(TORONTO) – Quagmire – the Toronto-based apparel brand founded by two buddies with a passion for golf, surf, skate and street culture – announces that it will support the 2011 Bob Hope Classic, golf’s best celebrity pro-am event, and have its groundbreaking new ColorFusion polos included in the tournament’s official gift bag.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Quagmire has sponsored the event, taking place January 19-22 across four stellar courses in La Quinta, CA.
Always keen to keep a good buzz going, company founders Geoff Tait and Bobby Pasternak are psyched to be outfitting the 384 amateur participants. These include scores of celebrities, such as Alice Cooper, Tommy Thayer, Kurt Russell, Dr. J, Marshall Faulk, Grant Fuhr, Rob Morrow, Sterling Sharp, Kevin Nealon, Craig T. Nelson, John O’Hurley and Greg Maddux.
“The Hope combines three of our favorite pastimes – giving back to the community, teeing it up and some really rockin’ parties,” says Tait. “Not only was it founded by one of the greatest entertainers of all time, since 1960 the event’s raised more than $49 million to support some sweet causes. We’re completely stoked to play a small part in that tradition.”
Featuring state-of-the-art technology designed to blow your mind, ColorFusion polos and t-shirts for adults and kids were first announced last Fall. They’ve been burning up the blogosphere and major media outlets across North America ever since. Widely available this spring, the pieces are made from crazy fabric that changes color at different temperatures.
In addition to the bevy of A-listers playing in the Bob Hope Classic, Quagmire is rocked by celebs and Tour pros worldwide who embody the brand’s “Not Fit for the Fairway” motto. Among those are Quagmire staff players Joe Affrunti, Karen Stupples, Tag Ridings and Brennan Webb. Check out www.quagmiregolf.com.
