LebanonTurf to donate $3,000 to the Western Ontario Golf Superintendents’ Association
LEBANON, PA. (Feb. 21, 2011) – Bronson, an 11-month-old chocolate Labrador retriever owned by Aldo Bortolon, golf course superintendent at the Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ontario, was selected Dog of the Year at the 2011 Golf Industry Show.
The Dog of the Year contest was sponsored by LebanonTurf and presented by Golf Course Management magazine. Voting was conducted among superintendents and other Golf Industry Show attendees earlier this month in Orlando.
Bronson, who was chosen from among dogs that appeared in LebanonTurf’s 2011 Dog Days of Golf calendar, will be featured in the April issue of Golf Course Management.
“He’s been a hit with our members since the first day he got here,” said Bortolon. “If I’m out on the course and he’s not with me, everyone wants to know, ‘Where’s Bronson?'”
In recognition of the honor, LebanonTurf will donate $3,000 to the Western Ontario Golf Superintendents’ Association, $500 to Bortolon and $500 to the Niagara Falls Humane Society.
