Phoenix, Arizona – When the LPGA TOUR tees it up this week in Phoenix to play in the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup, the players carry more in their bags than just the tools of their trade. Some of the world’s most famous players protect their hi-tech drivers, fairway woods and hybrids while also offering a peek into their personalities with their Daphne’s Headcovers.
“We’re very proud of our relationships with many PGA and LPGA Tour players,” explained Jane Spicer, president of Phoenix-based Daphne’s Headcovers. “The fact that they have chosen our headcovers is very gratifying and I have to admit, I still get excited when I see Daphne’s Headcovers during televised events.”
Headcovers from Daphne’s Headcovers, the original headcover company, are hard to miss as the caddies carry the Tour bags up the fairways. Some of the colorful animals currently on the LPGA TOUR include the wildly popular Monkey Made of Sockies in Leta Lindley’s bag, the Border Collie carried by Wendy Ward, the Zebra on Sara Brown’s driver, and the Hope Purple Dolphin which also drives charity dollars for its player, Beth Bader.
Portions of sales of many of Daphne’s Headcovers go to support various charities including The Susan L. Bader Foundation of Hope for pancreatic cancer research and Gabriel’s Angels which provides therapy dogs for abused and at-risk children.
“We are thrilled to help support many worthy causes that are important to us and to our Tour player friends,” Spicer revealed. “From the time I was little, my mother Daphne, our company’s namesake, always said, ‘Jane, when Daphne’s Headcovers is doing well, it’s also important to do some good!'”
Pam Gaber, CEO of the local Gabriel’s Angels said, “We are honored to partner with Daphne’s Head Covers. Jane Spicer’s enthusiasm and support of Gabriel’s Angels mission is rooted in her belief that children be healed by the unconditional love of a therapy dog. Philanthropy and giving back is ingrained in the culture of her amazing company.”
Each of the company’s headcovers exhibits the Daphne’s Difference. From conception to completion, each and every headcover is created with an eye on quality, function, form and attention to minute detail.
“Our company reputation is based on twenty-five years of providing quality through custom designs and attention to the smallest details,” said Spicer. “All of our 200-plus headcover designs bear our factory phone number. We are so convinced of our quality that should anything ever go wrong with one of our products, we will fix or replace it at our expense.”
