Norcross, GA (June 06, 2011) — Divots Sportswear, the oldest private golf apparel company in the country (www.divots.com), extends congratulations to tour ambassador Sonny Skinner on his excellent finish in the 2011 Senior PGA Championship, played recently at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY.
Skinner earned honors as the Low PGA Club Professional by firing a 6-over par, four-round total of 294. He finished tied for 45th, besting 41 other club professionals in the field. Skinner made the first cut at a major in three career tries. He played in the 2008 and 2010 PGA Championship, but missed the cut both times.

Skinner actually was one of the early leaders of the Championship when he eagled the 527-yard, par 5 2nd hole in the first round to go 2-under par after just two holes. Tom Watson was the eventual winner of the most historic and prestigious event in senior golf.
“To be the Low PGA Club Professional in this Championship is quite an honor,” said Skinner, who was making his rookie appearance in the event. “As PGA Club Professionals, there’s great pride that we take and we look at this as being our Championship.”
Skinner, who turned 50 last summer, has shifted his sites towards competition on the Champions TOUR in 2011. He is a two-time winner on The Nationwide TOUR and a PGA teaching professional at River Pointe Golf Club in Albany, GA.
