SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (July 1, 2011) – Gateway Pro Tour announced today that Grand Canyon University, a private, Christian university located in Phoenix, is the latest to sign on as a sponsor of the Gateway Pro Tour.

Grand Canyon University is a regionally accredited four-year university that offers online and campus-based bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in the areas of business, education, nursing and health sciences, liberal arts, doctoral studies, and fine arts and production. GCU emphasizes individual attention for both traditional undergraduate students as well as the working professional.

“We are proud to begin a sponsorship with Gateway Pro Tour,” said Grand Canyon University CEO Brian Mueller. “Just as these young professional golfers seek to enhance and build their careers, so do our students who come from all walks of life to pursue a degree.”

Sponsors provide an essential resource for Gateway Pro Tour. Some of the ways sponsor money allows for the continued growth, success, and recognition of Gateway Pro Tour are – Tour expansion, increased purse sizes, Nationwide and PGA TOUR exemptions, Q-School bonuses, administration, tournament equipment and materials, charity golf tournaments, community involvement and enhanced membership benefits.

“Sponsors are integral to help maintain and grow the tour and we are grateful to Grand Canyon University and all of our sponsors for the support they give us,” said Ryan Pray, Executive Director of Gateway Pro Tour.

Founded in 1949, Grand Canyon University prepares learners to become global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators and responsible leaders by providing an academically challenging, values-based curriculum from the context of its Christian heritage.
