Golf instructors learn system to teach great putting; Nationwide Tour win, top 10 follow SPi teaching sessions last week
(Franklin, TN – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) The SeeMore Putter company launched a new initiative this year, called the SeeMore Putter Institute (SPi), which has as its mission the goal of training and certifying golf instructors and professional fitters in the SeeMore putting system for long term game improvement. The new program has been gaining momentum since its launch in April, with over 50 professional teachers and 100 professional fitters already having been certified, and new instructors entering the program every day. This means that golfers everywhere will soon be able to find a SeeMore professional near them to be able to experience the same introduction to the SeeMore putting system that has been developed on tour. And the SPi initiative instantly hit pay dirt last weekend as 2 recent students of the system found huge success on the Nationwide Tour’s Chiquita Classic event in Cincinnati, with a victory and a top 10 finish.
SPi is a learning system based on the simple fundamentals of finding proper grip, alignment, stance, and posture that allow a natural, free, and simple putting stroke on each and every putt. It is based on the technology built into the putter itself, and on the refined teachings of SeeMore Global Ambassodor Pat O’Brien – putting instructor to Zach Johnson, Vaughn Taylor and many other top PGA Tour and developing players. O’Brien has been teaching the SeeMore System around the world for more than 12 years, ever since he watched his good friend the late Payne Stewart first benefit from the SeeMore putting system to win 1999 US Open and lead the PGA Tour in putting statistics that year.
O’Brien set out to train the next generation of young players to become better putters through use of this system, which he saw would benefit players of all levels. Since 2001, his prize students Johnson and Taylor have become widely known as 2 of the best putters on tour, with a Major Championship, 9 PGA Tour Victories, $32 million in earnings, putting records, and numerous Ryder Cup and President’s Cup appearances between them. In fact, just this Spring another of O’Brien’s professional students used these same fundamental teachings to help him win the 2011 Players Championship.
At the Chiquita Classic Nationwide Event last week, SeeMore lead SPi instructor Ted Gallina worked with Russell Knox, covering all of the fundamentals of great putting that a lesson with an SPi certified instructor will cover. Five days later, Knox completed a stunning week of amazing putting with his new SeeMore Si3 putter, finishing the event at 25 under par and hoisting the winner’s trophy high over his head for his first career victory, $100,000 winners check, and a clear path to a PGA Tour Card! Knox was 1st in the field in birdies with 28, 1st in fewest putts per round with an average of 26.8, and 1st in the field in putting average at 1.575 putts per green in regulation. In the same event, local Ohio golfer Wes Homan was extended a sponsor’s invite to compete. Homan had also gone through the SeeMore SPi training this year with instructor John Higgins, and with his SeeMore DB4x in hand, Homan took every advantage of his opportunity to play on the big stage, firing a 16 under par total to finish the event tied for 10th.
According to Gallina, Higgins, and their mentor Pat O’Brien, most of the tour players that they meet out on tour have the same questions as the average golfer, asking about fundamentals in alignment and about how a SeeMore putter and the RST (RifleScope Alignment Technology) help them get into the correct positions to make a great stroke every time. “The RST system, along with a properly fit putter in terms of proper length and lie adjusted to a proper stance and posture, will make a huge difference in their ability to put a consistently better putting stroke on the ball each and every time”, according to Gallina. “We get them fit properly, and then we let them discover the joy of rolling the ball with the right speed and direction on every put, and feeling the confidence that comes with a proven putting system.”
The SPi program teacher certification program is managed day to day by PGA member Ted Gallina, SeeMore’s Director of Instruction and Tour training. Becoming SPi Certified will help golf teachers formulate a complete teaching plan to help their existing students and recruit new students to become great putters using the SeeMore system that has won 2 Major Championships and set numerous putting records on the PGA Tour. It is a complete game plan, which will give any golf instructor a new level of confidence in the proper teaching and fitting involved in putting instruction. Becoming certified to teach the system initially consists of online training, but also includes personal coaching, and will include regional seminars in the Fall. At the retail level, the SeeMore SPi initiative for professional fitters is managed day to day by John Higgins, SeeMore’s LPGA Tour Rep and Director of Key Account sales and marketing support. RST Technology
SeeMore’s patented RST, known by a visible gun sight on the top line, allows the golfer to set up the putter perfectly each and every time in relation to the intended target line. This is accomplished by lining up the black bottom portion of the shaft between two white lines and covering a signature red dot on the
heel of the top line. The process is like locking radar onto a target. The two parallel white sight lines frame the shaft and serve as an indicator that the golfer is in perfect position to make a consistent and reliable stroke.
