BALTIMORE, MD. – July 25, 2011 – STX Golf, world-renowned as an industry pioneer in putter innovation, and for its patented Soft Face Insert Technology, announced today that the company will be participating in the GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship commonly known as the World Am from August 29, 2011 through September 2, 2011.
The World Am is the largest amateur golf event in the world. Over 3,500 avid golfers with varying skills levels come together to compete in the four day stroke play tournament and experience some of Myrtle Beach’s top golf courses. 50 United States and 25 countries are represented in this world class event. In addition to the competitive golf, participants will enjoy food, open bar, a golf expo and entertainment at the World’s Largest 19th Hole located at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
According to STX Director of Golf Steve Henneman, “STX will be exhibiting at the Golf Expo as it provides us an opportunity to get our brand in front of a wide variety of serious golfers ranging all skill levels and more importantly, they can personally test our putters. We are confident that once these players see the benefits of our F.E.E.L.tm inserts in addition to interchangeable face and weight technology, they will join of rapidly growing community of STX enthusiasts.”
Testing shows STX Putters have almost twice the dwell time of putters with harder inserts and nearly three times the dwell time of metal faced putters.
The difference is due to the high coefficient of friction (COF) that is chemically engineered into each STX insert. The high COF results in unequaled precision on the greens. STX inserts also provide the signature STX “Feel”, which holds the ball on the face longer to impart topspin and improve the feel of the putter.
For a variety of responses and feel, STX Putters are available with black, red and green insert options. The black insert is the softest in the STX line. It delivers the highest friction and resilience rate, plus increased dwell time. Those characteristics are chemically formulated to get the ball rolling sooner and keep your putts on line. For a medium resiliency rate, the red insert offers an intermediate amount of dwell time for golfers that prefer a harder feel. And, for golfers who prefer the feel of a steel putter, the green insert provides a harder feel with less resilience
About STX:
STX is acknowledged as being the golf industry’s foremost authority on insert face technology. Over a quarter century ago, the company introduced the first patented soft face insert, creating the “softest legal face in golf.” Following this advancement, the company introduced the first USGA approved interchangeable face insert and removable weight system. Both these and other innovations have helped create the standards for putter design today.
